The Expert Spotlight

A 1:1 square featuring one expert - a face, a headline and a button. It is sized for the 300×300 slot already cut into your template, so there is no layout work, and the whole tile is the click target. Earn 50% when a reader books.

See it with real experts

One expert at a time, drawn live from the network - name, role, company, price and a "Book a call" link. This one rotates so you can see the range; in place it holds one person per article.

In the slot that is already there

Nearly every article template has a 300×300 unit in the sidebar. On most sites it is empty, or holding a house ad. The Spotlight fits it exactly — no redesign, no new placement to agree.

How to raise a pre-seed round without a warm intro

9 min read · Updated last week

The hardest part of a first round is not the pitch deck. It is that almost every cheque at pre-seed moves through a referral, and first-time founders do not have the network that produces one.

There are ways around it, but they take longer than most guides admit. Cold outreach works at roughly a tenth of the rate of a warm introduction, so the volume you need is uncomfortable rather than impossible.

Before any of that, you need an honest read on whether the round is fundable at all — and the only reliable way to find out is to put it in front of somebody who has sat on the other side of the table.

The unit in place on an article page, at the size the slot expects

One unit, every square size

It reads the width it is given and scales the photo, type and button to match, so the same line of code works in a narrow rail and a wide end-of-article block. The ratio stays 1:1 at every size.

How it works

01
Paste one line into your square slot

The sidebar unit you already have. It takes the width it is given and makes itself square.

02
It picks the expert from the article

One post keeps one face across visits, so it never shuffles under a returning reader.

03
A reader books, you earn 50%

Tracked to the article the tile sat on. Paid monthly via Wise or PayPal.

Frequently asked questions

Because you already have one. Nearly every content template has a 300×300 unit in the sidebar, and on most sites it is empty or filled with a house ad. The Spotlight drops into it without a redesign or a new placement to agree.
By default it is chosen from the article itself, so one post keeps one expert across visits and crawls while a different post gets a different one. You can narrow it to a shortlist with data-only, or pin one person permanently with data-expert.
No. The headline, role, photo and price all come live from the expert's own profile, so the tile stays current when they update it and there is nothing on your site to go stale.
It takes the width it is given and makes its own height match, so it stays square at any size. The type, photo and button scale with it, from a narrow rail up to a full-width end-of-article block.
Yes. The Spotlight, the in-article widget, the Carousel and the Expert Board all earn into the same account, and each is reported separately so you can see which one actually converts for you.
